As a consequence of the closure of Romanian air space due to the volcanic
cloud, air traffic from Baia Mare Airport will be closed down from April
16th, starting with 12 pm. The Romanian Government has decided that the
entire Romanian air space will be closed at least until Sunday, April 18th
at 12.00 am.
The passengers are requested to contact TAROM Agency for further
information concernng scheduled flights.

TAROM DOUBLES THE NUMBER OF FLIGHTS ON THE ROUTE BUCURESTI - BAIA MARE - BUCURESTI
Because of the excellent Passenger Load Factor in the last 18 months (starting with 1st of April 2007), on the 5 weekly flights, TAROM decided to double the flights on the route Bucuresti(Otopeni) - Baia Mare - Bucuresti (Otopeni).
This event will take place starting with 26th of October, and it will apperar on TAROM'S time tible - www.tarom.ro - as a new flight wit the number RO 617/618 - operated on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as follows:
- RO 617: Bucuresti/Otopeni 17:20 TAKE OFF - Baia Mare 18.40 - LANDING;
- RO 618: - RO 618: Baia Mare 19.00 -TAKE OFF - Bucuresti / Otopeni 20.15 - LANDING.

Starting with 21st of April 2008, the Maramures county and Baia Mare city will be connected to Europe through Austrian Airline flights. Austrian Airlines operates three weekly flighs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, on Vienna - Baia Mare - Vienna route.
The flights will be made with 50 passenger capacity aircrafts, turboreactor engine Canadair Jet airplanes.
Vienna International Airport offers flights to: Paris, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin, Bruxelles, Amsterdam, Chicago, New York, etc, at lapses of 30 to 240 minutes.
